Super nice guy and talented illustrator Damien Correll has been doing these beautiful covers for the podcasts over at Radiozero. Go there and check them out as well as the podcast if you need some tunes to get you set for the weekend.

originalgangster-maryblairIf you’ve ever seen Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, or been to Disneyland then you’re already familiar with the work of Mary Blair. One of my favorite illustrators and a personal favorite of Mr. Disney check out a treasure trove of her illustrations here.

gu1Hard to believe the world is in global economic turmoil when you have people like Merijin Hos aka Bfree around. All kinds of lovely work over at his website such as drawings, installations, childrens books and even a video spot for YO GABBA GABBA. Dreamy!

sunset-beach-hotelJust got back from the Andrew Holder show at Subtext. Amazing show, something different in Andrew’s work than your average 60′s folk art revivalist, something happy and wonderful. If you live in the San Diego/Los Angeles area you definitely need to come out and see for yourself. I just wish I was rich so I could have bought everything at the show. Definitely a new favorite of mine.

Really enjoying the work over at Sacred Mtn. Again another artist emerging in this Folk Art meets Glaser style that seems to be all the rage right now in the illustration grass roots art scene. Also nice collection of photos showing work for their latest exhibit on Flickr.

Our buddy Steve has a show coming up at the Lazy Dog in Paris starting in June. It will then travel onto other cities this year (Berlin, Milan & Barcelona). Sounds like a nice one, details here.

BREE NetherlandsFound BREE from one of the latest issues of IdN, The Semiotics of Illustration. IdN is always a nice magazine and has been for years, but I found this issue to be mega hot, tons of great work in here and even highlights on some of Geoff Mcfetridge’s latest works.

Josh KenyonWhile somewhat in the genre of todays “hipster” drawing style, the work of Josh Kenyon is still mega hot.

What an amazing set of illustrations and drawings at the ‘In The Year 2000‘ photoset on Flickr. Not to be missed, browse this nice collection and check some of the credits and history behind some of these illustrations. Very Inspiring and these will always leave you with what a let down of what didn’t happen, hah.

Nice video with lots of silly type styles. The part that spoofs the old school HBO intro is super nice.

We understand that it can be hard getting a feel for what a book contains when looking at it on the web. We, on the other hand, get to spend a lot of quality time with the books we have in stock, so we felt it may be helpful share a few of our favorites with you.
