poster.jpg“We set up Early Griffin as a project to enable us to indulge our love for the hand made quality and process involved in screen printing and the desire to work with artists we admire. We work closely with invited artists to produce a series of screen prints in limited editions of 50, with 3 artists in each series. Each print is editioned by us by hand and individually approved by the artist. We hope we can work with artists at all stages of their career and from all corners of the globe. Early Griffin donates 10% of the profits of each edition to a charity of the artist’s choice.” – Early Griffin

I really like Studio Von Birken. That is one of the many reasons I like The Glossy Zine. Good use of type, good imagery, good people… all done by Studio Von Birken. One of the few fashion magazines I can look at besides Self Service.

New hotness from Tycho.

What a way to end to end our day in the Bangkok studio and to start the day in the American studio.

Ah, the LCD screen dress is the hotness. Sick stuff as always from Hussein Chalayan.

Little sneak peak at a scene in the film.

“Daft Punk’s Electroma is a film project by French duo Daft Punk. The plot revolves around the quest of two robots (the band members, played by Peter Hurteau and Michael Reich) in becoming human. The music featured in this film is not by Daft Punk. This is a first for the duo considering their previous film/DVD releases, Interstella 5555 and D.A.F.T. (the latter being a collection of music videos). The music in this film includes works by Todd Rundgren, Brian Eno, Sébastien Tellier, Curtis Mayfield, Linda Perhacs, Jackson C. Frank, and Mathieu Tonetti.”

matsysEstablished in 2004 by Andrew Kudless, Matsys is an architectural design studio that explores the emergent relationships between architecture, engineering, biology, and computation. Based on the idea that architecture can be understood as a material body with its own intrinsic and extrinsic forces relating to form, growth, and behavior, the studio investigates methodologies of performative integration through geometric and material differentiation. The studio’s work ranges from speculative and built projects to the crafting of new tools which facilitate an interdisciplinary approach to the design and fabrication of architecture.

suzyqSuzy q and the owls is influenced by her native Scotland, architecture and natural history and can often be found in the mineral section at the natural history museum in london, where she lives. Her work explores urban and rural landscapes and investigates their aesthetic and geographical make up. Suzy’s work combines 2D images and 3D models, in a variety of media, echoing the methods that architects use to convey how a proposed project would look once completed.
