Delappe_Walking

Joseph Delappe is reenacting Gandhi’s 240 mile “Salt March to Dandiâ€? on a modified treadmill which powers his Gandhi avatar in “Second Life” as part of an installation at Eyebeam. Delappe will be completing his virtual/physical journey on April 5th. It is interesting to think of how other, ‘every day’, users of Second Life would participate with a Virtual Gandhi. Furthermore to think of the possibility of having something along the lines of a virtual NYC marathon! More screen-shots can be found here.

I have been following this topic on the internet lately and it shows what happens when a user by the name Daniel_K tried to fix the problem with his Creative sound card. Well, he got in trouble, but more in the likes of Creative bashing him online before contacting him. He explains his faults and what he shouldn’t have done (taking donations, a whopping $146 total). At the same time, he explains what Creative did with this product launch and driver updates, basically bringing an older model to its knees so you would have to buy a new model. Check out the article at WIRED. Another reason why YouWorkForThem has gone basically 95% Apple in the past year, no time for all these hardware upgrade issues! Too each his own!

rainydayz_cover.jpgIf you liked the In Rainbows album from Radiohead, check out these nice remixes. Rainydayz Remixes is composed exclusively of source material pulled from In Rainbows, re-envisioned by Amplive and complimented by vocal work from Too $hort, MC Zumbi of Zion I, Chali2na of Jurassic 5, Codany Holiday, and Del The Funky Homosapien. Yeah thats right, this has Too Short and Del remixed with Radiohead and its FREE. Shhhiiiii….

We have been showing behind the scenes and talking about this all month, now the video has arrived. Amazing, but what else did you expect from Bjork? Created by Encyclopedia Pictura
Update: See the high res version at EP’s site: http://www.encyclopediapictura.com/wanderlust/index.htm

“My current work, The Pink and Blue Projects are the topic of my thesis. This project explores the trends in cultural preferences and the differences in the tastes of children (and their parents) from diverse cultures, ethnic groups as well as gender socialization and identity. The work also raises other issues, such as the relationship between gender and consumerism, urbanization, the globalization of consumerism and the new capitalism.”
I love it.

Official music video for The Heavy’s ‘Coleen’. Really digging this video, its like a little more down to earth version of Geoff McFetridge in motion.

blogpost_crblackslabbth.jpgThe good ole English Creative Review drops a spotlight on our exclusive typeface by Stefan Kjartansson, Black Slabbath. This typeface is blowing up, showing up everywhere, being gobbled up by everyone and easily becoming the font of 2008. If you get your hands on the March issue of CR, find this feature in the Agenda | Typography section. Cheers Creative Review!

The premiere of the 2D version will be on March 31st.

Rafaël Rozendaal

Rafaël Rozendaal is Dutch and Brazilian nationality. Most people know him for his websites. His subjects range from clouds to blood, from hands to farts, from hills to dollars, from doors to fire. A friend of his asked ‘what is your leading path?’ He cannot answer that question yet.

Nice video with lots of silly type styles. The part that spoofs the old school HBO intro is super nice.

So today I was eating lunch here in Bangkok, when all of a sudden The Good, The Bad & The Ugly came on. So here I am posting these intro titles because they are so damn hot. Produced in 1966, there is also a Spanish version: El Bueno, El Feo, El Malo.
