Meek FM is an interpretation of type as sound. Using new software and the M.E.E.K. typographic synthesizer, the musician/designer develops sounds and typographic visuals in parallel. Meek FM will be premiering as an interactive installation at the Typo2007. The Meek FM team will also perform live at the Festival event.

Dwell Magazine has a video section, featuring random designers etc. Check it out, enjoy.

Also, Jay from Magers and Quinn wrote and said that Chip Kidd will be speaking in Minneapolis at the Minneapolis Central Library on February 27th at 7pm. Maybe it’s me, but the ending of that Chip Kidd video freaked me out.

black slabbathYouWorkForThem just released the new typeface, Black Slabbath. There will be a release party at the notorious Hexagon Bar in Minneapolis with some ear-splitting metal. Kicking off their 2008 tour, the Birthday Suits will be opening the night and their world tour. Following is one of MN’s finest brutal bands, Building Better Bombs. Strut and Shock will finish the night. What other typeface could bring you this all-killer lineup?

Be there! February 29th, 10pm.
