2390849904_82af7d92cbMatt Desmond is well known for making fonts, but most people don’t know that Matt loves cars. The last year of his life he spent filming cars and was working on two videos. His first video is now finished and I have seen some clips and he did a great job. Hopefully Matt will be focusing on fonts this year! ;)

James Widegren & Kaya Sorhaindo are passing out candy in the form of the latest & greatest in fashion, photography, visual culture, & creative/art. A wonderfully curated treasure trove that I am looking forward to watch grow in the months to come.

linesLeslie Miles is an online curator of sorts whose mission is to not be everyone’s tenth favorite blog, but rather ten people’s favorite blog. From what I’ve seen so far I think he’s put together some gorgeous image collections that he bases around a single word. While he’s not my favorite blog I do think I put him in my top ten. :-)

Just Farr a Laugh, Vol. 1 and 2Probably my last post of the year so thought I would go out in style. This week Travis introduced me to Earles and Jansen and it pretty amazing. For sure worth a listen if you are into prank calls and off humor. The Bleachy series and the Ditchweed one are my favorites for sure.

Our good buddy and master designer friend Gabe (Service) has recently launched a nice clothing store over at Need Supply, Co. In the mood for shopping or getting something nice for your lady friend, I suggest a stop by over at his site, uber hipster.

We just updated stock for the Grid Systems shirts and added a women’s option. Enjoy!

YouWorkForThem Alumni, Tristan Benedict-Hall, has launched his new t-shirt and goods project called A Mystery In Common. Need some gifts for christmas or just want some new getup? Stop on by his shop and grab a few things, you will feel cozy and warm inside if you do.

As if Reason #4123 Uniqlock wasn’t enough, my favorite fashion brand has gone even further by giving away FREE clothes in NYC this November by way of Human Vending Machines! A Uniqlo rep describes it as such, “Basically we’re going to have two mimes. A male and a female mime inside the machine. And the public can see them through glass. When you get there, we’re going to have Uniqlo reps dressed in the silver bodysuits. And they’re going to hold a thermograph scanner — think of an airport security machine. The thermographer identifies cold spots in your body. After you go through that, you go to the vending machine and push a button and the mimes are going to do a synchronized choreographed routine and then your outfit comes out.” Check out the post on NewYork Mag for more details.

YouWorkForThem is proud to bring you the release of our Fall 2008 Men’s and Women’s tees and sweatshirts. We’ve worked hard to produce this unique collection of limited edition designs. These shirts are a step above the rest, check them out!

We were part of this party that took place in Minneapolis called Sugar. Every 6 months in Minneapolis, they have these huge fashion events and Sugar was the big party of the weekend. YWFT was asked to contribute shirts from our new run that the servers wore. It was featured in the Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper and think it was on TV too. I guess it ended in people jumping in the pool and getting freaky wild. None of us were there (we rarely go to any events like this), so we can’t verify, but here are some pictures. Get ready for new shirts from us.

Thanks to Digital Crush for the photos.

JordiOften imitated yet never duplicated Mr. Labanda has some of my favorite fashionized lifestyle illustration work. You may have seen his editorial work years past in *Wallpaper magazine. It seems he now has a new fashion line available and a store in Barcelona. What’s not to love?
