Located in Buenos Aires, Sudtipos is the first Argentinean type foundry collective, established by Ale Paul, Ariel Garofalo, Claudio Pousada, and Diego Giaccone. Together, the four present an extensive and formidable multidisciplinary expertise in branding, corporate identity, package design, television and new media.
Sudtipos is particularly recognizable for their script fonts, a diverse collection of highly-detailed type designs possessing a varied array of distinctive personalities. One of their most recent releases is Envelove, an organic and impulsive script that adheres to no formal calligraphic ideals, preferring to embrace and celebrate an adoration for the written word without constraint or inhibition. Handwritten by Yani Arabena, Envelove was designed alongside Guille Vizzari and Ale Paul.
The expressive letterforms of Envelove wander through the wake left behind by a pointed nib, meaningful rivulets of black ink blazing eloquent trails along the paper. The very name, Envelove, is a play on words that reflects a pure affection for letters.
Envelove is offered in three distinct styles that include a vivacious all-caps letter set, a spirited script, and a whimsical collection of 66 love-letter inspired icons that can be easily adapted into striking patterns. The trio complement one another flawlessly, the perfect combination for handwritten invitations, programs, menus, stationery, handcrafted wares, advertising, and any design project that needs a personal and sentimental touch.
Envelove Caps provides 590 glyphs that include contextual alternates, stylistic alternates, discretionary ligatures, fractions, and small caps. Envelove Script includes discretionary ligatures, standard ligatures, fractions, stylistic and titling alternates. Envelove extends multilingual support to Basic Latin, Western European, Euro, Catalan, Baltic, Turkish, Central European, Pan African Latin, Dutch, and Afrikaans, with the addition of Latin Ligatures in the script version.
Sudtipos currently offers just over 100 unique products through YouWorkForThem and if you love Envelove, you won’t want to miss the rest of their portfolio. Sudtipos has a letter set for just about any type of design project and we can’t wait to see what they create next.
