Ben recently won our typography grant over at Society6. We thought we should show you some of his work and let him introduce himself with this little interview.

Short explanation of what you do or who you are, one or two sentences: I love drawing patterns and typefaces by hand; I am trying to make a living doing just this.
Color: Color Wheel; The colors of a basic play-doh set
Music: The soundtrack to Streets of Rage 2 for the Sega Genesis; old hawaiian records.
Book: The Big Book of Interesting Facts.
Designer: Those responsible for the packaging on 99 cent store products and the backgrounds in 16-bit video games.
Animal: Giant mammals that have gone extinct; birds of paradise.
Place: A beach with a city skyline in the background or foreground.
Shape: Triangle, Circle, Square.
Artist: Matisse, Phidias, Maira Kalman.
Typeface: Sans Serif.
